![]() They do seem to change the Milbrae/SFO pattern every couple years, but it seems like there’s no real great answers. Thanks for the updates, I’ve been using OAK recently, but will be using SFO again soon so this is useful.Ĭan’t help but think this could’ve been avoided if years ago people didn’t get hung up on “BART direct to SFO” and instead they built an air train out to the main BART line. If I were anywhere between MacArthur and any of the SF stations, I might wait for the other trainĪs for the traffic, yup, although I find that coming home from SFO late afternoon / evening is a lot worse than the morning commute traffic to SFO. (i.e., if I had a large suitcase and rollerbag carry on) and boarded at North Berkeley, and had a seat, I'd probably stay on the train to Millbrae and backtrack. Safe travels, my friends.I did notice the map change on a recent BART ride. BART is a much more reliable way to arrive at SFO on time, and with minimal stress. Traffic in the SF Bay Area is very unpredictable, and crashes/stalls on the Bay Bridge can ruin your air travel day. It can actually be faster to take a slightly later train at your station if that later train goes directly to SFO (extra time waiting for that later train can be less than the extra time going to Milbrae). I plug in my desired arrival time at SFO and work backwards from there. If you see "San Francisco International Airport" on the signs, the train will go to SFO - only question is whether it will first go to Milbrae.Īs I read the maps and schedules, it looks like the Richmond Line (red on the maps) has the Milbrae-SFO trains the Antioch Line (yellow) has the trains going directly to SFO after San Bruno. I was a little concerned that we might bypass SFO again, and then I'd need to backtrack from San Bruno. It added about 10 minutes to the journey - no biggie for me, as I had sufficient time to catch my flight. The train went to Milbrae, stopped for a couple of minutes, and turned around. It then dawned on me that we weren't going to SFO - at least not directly. After the San Bruno Station, I saw SFO to my left, and then a bit behind me to my left. ![]() I boarded a train at North Berkeley Station for "San Francisco International Airport / Milbrae". Last time I took BART to SFO, I was a bit confused.

One of the sentences in this picture has a correct pronoun, and one has an incorrect pronoun. Now we know that this sentence is correct: Sierra made fun of I sounds wrong, so we have to replace I with me. Sierra made fun of him sounds right, so the pronoun him is correct. First, we'll try the sentence with just the pronoun him. This sentence has two pronouns, so we'll need to check both of them. If the sentence sounds funny, you'll know you need to change the pronoun. If you have a pronoun and a noun together, try reading the sentence with just the pronoun. Here's a way to make sure you're using the right pronoun in these situations. For example, people are often not sure if they should say Sam and me stole money or Sam and I stole money. It's not always so easy to tell which pronoun to use. If you do, people might be confused about who is doing what in your sentence. For example, you wouldn't say Him needs to buy broccoli, or Sam wrote a letter to she. It's important to use the right type of pronoun when you speak or write. Notice that you and it can replace subjects or objects, so sentences like You should buy it and It looks nice on you are both correct. In our last example, her is the right pronoun to replace Miranda because she's female and the object of the sentence. If you aren't sure which pronoun is right, here's a chart that tells you which pronouns can replace subjects and which can replace objects. For example, you can probably tell that this sentence is correct: Most of the time, you'll know if a pronoun sounds right or wrong. That's why it sounds wrong in this example. The word she can't replace the object of a sentence. This makes her the object of the sentence. ![]() In the second sentence, though, Sam is doing an action to Miranda (stealing). And she is a pronoun that can replace subjects. This means she's the subject of the sentence. In the first sentence, Miranda is the one doing the action (bragging). However, you can't just use the pronoun she every time you're talking about Miranda. For example, in this sentence, the pronoun she replaces Miranda. ![]() A pronoun is a word you can substitute for one of these things. AR is the demand curve or average revenue curve facing the monopolist. The price-output equilibrium of the monopolist can be easily understood with the help of figure1.6 on the next page. If the production is carried beyond this point, the profits will start decreasing. He does so because profits will go on increasing as long as marginal revenue exceeds marginal cost.Īt the point where marginal revenue is equal to marginal cost, profits will be maximised. He will continue expanding output so long as marginal revenue exceeds marginal cost. In other words, the monopolist will be in equilibrium position at that level of output at which marginal revenue equals marginal cost. He will stop at that point beyond which additional units of production add more to cost than to revenue. He will go on producing so long as additional units add more to revenue than to cost. In other words, he will be in equilibrium at the price-output level, at which his profits are maximum. Therefore, he will produce to a point and charge a price, which gives him the maximum money profits. Equalising Maginal Revenue and Marginal Cost The aim of the monopolist, like every other producer, is to maximise his total money profits. He can only do one of the two things i.e. However, he cannot fix both the price and force people to buy a pre-determined quantity at that price. (b) he can fix the supply and then let price be determined by demand in relation to the supply fixed by him. (a) fix the price and offer to supply the quantity demanded at that price or Being in control of supply, the monopolist can Monopolist is a sole producer of the commodity and he can easily influence the price by changing his supply. the product of a rival cannot take the place of the monopolised product. In other words, the cross-elasticity of demand between the product of the monopolist and the product of the closest rival must be very low i.e. A monopolist is the sole producer of his product, which has no closely competing substitutes. It is under the control of the monopolist. However, the difference is that supply is not free to adjust itself to demand. Under monopoly conditions, too, there is bound to be interaction between the forces of demand and supply. These are created to eliminate competition and to earn huge profits i.e. ![]() Monopoly is the antithesis of competition. Thus, a monopolist sets price for his production in relation to the demand position and not just fix up any price he likes. He will produce that level of output, which maximises profits and charge only that price at which heis in a position to dispose of his entire output. If buyers refuse to buy at a very high price, he has to keep a lower price. This is because, he cannot disregard demand situation in the market. Though a monopolist is a price-maker, he has limited power to charge a high price for his product in the market.

You can try a slow feeder cat bowl or an anti-vomit cat bowl to see whether this makes any difference to your cat’s vomiting. In this case, slowing your cat’s eating down is key. This sometimes happens with a particular flavour or type of food if your cat particularly enjoys one flavor over another. ‘Scarf and barf’ is common, so for many cats the cause of the vomiting is eating too much, too quickly. (Image credit: Getty) How to stop my cat from throwing up after eating If you’re worried about your cat, take them to the veterinarian for a check up, even if the vomiting is infrequent and they seem otherwise fine. In addition, you should trust your instincts. It’s important to visit your vet if your cat shows any of the following signs alongside throwing up after eating: On the other hand, even if your cat is vomiting infrequently you should visit the vet if they have other signs such as lethargy, diarrhea, or a poor appetite. If your cat is throwing up after eating but is otherwise acting normal, it’s unlikely to be an emergency, but you should still book a check-up with your vet if it’s more frequent than once a month. The other thing you should look at is whether your cat has any other symptoms of being ill. And if your cat is vomiting more than once a day, or is unable to keep food down, you should make an urgent appointment with your veterinarian. If your cat is vomiting after eating at least once a week, you should book an appointment to visit your vet. The frequency of vomiting is important – if your cat vomits after eating just once, or it’s a rare occurrence (once a month or less often), then you can monitor them and bring it up with your vet at their next appointment. With so many reasons your cat might be vomiting, knowing what to do if your cat is throwing up is key. When should I be concerned about my cat vomiting? You might want to look into slow feeders to stop your cat from eating so fast and vomiting after. Try to work out if your cat throws up with all wet foods, or whether it’s a particular brand or flavor. Whilst they’ll graze on dry food all day, they’ll scarf down any wet food you provide as soon as it goes down – and then vomit it back up again. For many felines, wet cat food is a favorite. This could be due to an intolerance with the food, but usually it’s a simpler explanation. Sometimes you’ll notice your cat will only be sick with one type of food. Sales were solid but the Odyssey was not a major hit. The Odyssey originally included twelve games, with eleven more games and a shooting gun attachment marketed shortly thereafter. The Odyssey and its later versions did not have sound capability. In that way the Odyssey was very similar to traditional board games. In reality, games were mostly played with the accessories instead of the simple graphics on the screen. Depending on the game, the light, which showed through the overlay, could be a race car, a baseball, a hockey puck, etc.ĭifferent games could be played on the same circuit card by simply changing the acetate television screen overlay, which simulated background color graphics, and by using a different set of accompanying accessories: game boards and pieces, scorecards, chips, maps, etc. Rather, it altered the signal path in the machine to change the light output coming through the television screen. The card did not contain the actual game program, though. To play a game, one inserted a circuit card (similar to a game cartridge) into the console. The game console looks similar to today's games, but its functions were not. Magnavox released it in the fall of 1972, but Baer had already created a functional prototype a few years earlier. Ralph Baer, often considered the "father of video games" designed the Odyssey. It demonstrated that the home console system would work and that there was a viable market. The Odyssey brought the arcade experience into the home and helped pave the way for the next generation of home video games such as the 1970s icon Pong. For that reason, most later "Pong" games had an explanation on their box saying "Works on any television set, black and white or color". Sales of the console were hurt by poor marketing by Magnavox retail stores, in addition to many consumers being led to believe that the Odyssey would work only on Magnavox televisions. While inferior graphically and with a smaller library than it’s competitors, the Odyssey2 managed to last until the crash of 1983. When the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 released in 19 respectively, which both featured programmable ROM cartridges, Magnavox responded with the Odyssey2 (also known as the Philips Videopac G7000 or the Philips Odyssey). However, the games were all included on the circuitry the cartridges were nothing more than a series of jumpers to select the game. The release of the Odyssey marked the beginning of the first generation of video game consoles and was an early part of the rise of the commercial video game industry.Magnavox released the first video game console, the Odyssey, in 1972, predating the Pong machines by three years. Patents by Baer and the other developers for the system and the games, including what was termed by a judge as "the pioneering patent of the video game art", formed the basis of a series of lawsuits spanning 20 years, earning Sanders and Magnavox over US$100 million. One of the 28 games made for the system, a ping pong game, was an inspiration for Atari's successful 1972 Pong arcade game, in turn driving sales of the Odyssey. The console spawned the Odyssey series of dedicated consoles, as well as the 1978 Magnavox Odyssey 2. After releasing the console through their dealerships, Magnavox sold 69,000 units its first calendar year, and 350,000 by the time the console was discontinued in 1975. The seventh, known as the Brown Box, was shown to several manufacturers before Magnavox agreed to produce it in January 1971. Over the next three years he, along with Bill Harrison and Bill Rusch, created seven successive prototype consoles. The idea for a video game console was conceived by Baer in August 1966. The Odyssey console came packaged with dice, paper money, and other board game paraphernalia to accompany the games, while a peripheral controller-the first video game light gun-was sold separately. The console cannot generate audio or track scores. Players place plastic overlays on the screen to display additional visual elements for each game, and the one or two players for each game control their dots with the knobs and buttons on the controller in accordance with the rules given for the game. ![]() It is capable of displaying three square dots and one line of varying height on the screen in monochrome black and white, with differing behavior for the dots depending on the game played.
